The Las Vegas Strip is stuffed with fabulous man made attractions, resorts, and hotels, for which this great city is best known, but this does not mean there's nothing else to see. The greater Las Vegas region is full of opportunities for scenic tours and trips. If gambling is not your main thing, or if you want to take a break from it all, rest assured that Las Vegas can take good care of you even then.

There are many types of Las Vegas tours you can take and a plethora of tour operators to choose from. Some of the things you can do on a Las Vegas tour are as follows:

• Take a bus trip to tourist attractions just outside of town. Those attractions include the Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam, the Valley of Fire, and many others.
• Go on a tour of the city, via bus, limousine, or helicopter. Helicopter Las Vegas trips after dark are especially spectacular.
• Helicopter trips are also available for out of town sight seeing excursions.
• Water tours include rafting, jet skiing, and cruising on Lake Mead or the Colorado river.
• 4x4 SUV, Hummer, and jeep trips are also available for a more intimate view of the canyons and deserts that surround Las Vegas.
• While not in the immediate vicinity of Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, is close enough and a famous enough attraction to interest many Las Vegas tourists. Grand Canyon trips leaving from Las Vegas usually include a short flight there, a land or air tour of the canyon and a flight back.
• Horseback riding trips.
• Bicycle trips.

Las Vegas tours usually include hotel pickup, and you'll be given a time and a specific hotel entrance to wait at. Make sure that you can identify the exact pickup location beforehand so that you won't miss your ride.

Finding and signing up for Las Vegas tours is easy. The airport's tourist information desk will have tour brochures, and your hotel will most likely have them as well. You'll be able to sign up by calling the tour operator at the phone number specified in the brochure. If you are planning on taking or renting a car, then venturing on your own instead of taking Las Vegas bus tours is probably the best and cheapest way to go. But then again, a car is great for a road trip, but it's no substitute for a helicopter. ;-)
